Jeff Hakim, MD, PhD, is a neurosurgeon with Intermountain Health. He looks forward to serving the needs of the Billings community. Dr. Hakim’s clinical interests include cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, dural arteriovenous fistulas, cavernous malformations, carotid stenosis and revascularization, stroke thrombectomy, Moyamoya disease and revascularization surgery, venous sinus stenosis and stenting, middle meningeal artery embolization for chronic subdural hematoma, vertebroplasty, and kyphoplasty. He completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University and earned his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy from the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. Dr. Hakim completed a residency in neurosurgery and fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery with the University of Virginia Health Center. He is passionate about educating his patients about their disease processes so they can have an informed voice in the direction of their care. “I look forward to meeting them to discuss their disease process and potential treatment options. As a dual-trained neurosurgeon, I can offer both endovascular and open-surgical therapies and explain the potential benefits and risks of each to find the best option for the specific situation.” When not working, Dr. Hakim enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and stone and wood carving.
